Start Well Informed

What would you like to know about private label cosmetics?

Every cosmetics project comes with individual requirements. Our FAQ provides initial guidance on our services, processes and general project conditions.

As formulations, packaging solutions and project scopes vary, our team will be happy to advise you personally on specific requirements.

01

Fundamentals

Private Label at PLCC

What does private label mean in the cosmetics industry?

Private label means that a cosmetic product is developed and manufactured for your own brand. The finished product is then marketed and sold under your brand name.

Depending on the project, the formulation, texture, packaging, colours, finishes and design can be adapted to your individual requirements. PLCC supports the development, project management and manufacturing process.

What is the difference between private label and white label?

Private label products can be customised to suit your brand, target audience and market positioning. This may include adjustments to the formulation, packaging and product design.

White label products are generally standardised products that are supplied with an individual brand name or label but offer little or no product customisation.

PLCC focuses on individual private label solutions rather than purely standardised products in very small quantities.

Why should I choose PLCC for my private label cosmetics project?

PLCC has more than 30 years of experience in the professional cosmetics market. Our clients benefit from personal support, high-quality product concepts and flexible customisation options.

More than 200 ready-to-go formulations provide an efficient starting point, while individual developments can be tailored to your brand, target group and positioning.

This allows you to expand your product range strategically, differentiate your brand and develop a distinctive product portfolio.

02

Quality & Safety

Product safety and regulatory requirements

Are the products dermatologically tested and well tolerated?

Our products are developed and manufactured according to defined quality and safety standards.

Depending on the product, formulation and specific project requirements, dermatological testing or additional compatibility testing can be carried out or commissioned.

We determine which tests are relevant for your project during the product development and regulatory assessment process.

How does PLCC ensure consistent product quality?

Products are developed and manufactured according to defined quality standards. Established testing and approval procedures are applied throughout development, manufacturing and filling.

Regular sample-based inspections support consistently high product quality. Standardised processes are also reviewed through audits and the consideration of relevant ISO standards.

Do the products comply with the EU Cosmetics Regulation?

Products developed for the European market comply with the applicable requirements of the EU Cosmetics Regulation.

The relevant legal requirements are considered and reviewed throughout product development, safety assessment, documentation and manufacturing.

For projects intended for markets outside the European Union, country-specific requirements should be communicated as early as possible.

How does PLCC handle confidential information?

Information relating to your projects, product ideas, formulations, concepts and company data is treated as strictly confidential.

PLCC follows clearly defined confidentiality and data protection procedures to safeguard sensitive information throughout the collaboration.

Additional confidentiality agreements can be arranged where required.

03

Quotation & Project Scope

Pricing, minimum quantities and project calculation

How long does it take to receive a quotation?

In many cases, we can provide an initial assessment of your target price within a few working days.

A detailed quotation is then prepared based on your individual requirements regarding formulation, packaging, filling volume, finishes, design and order quantity.

We carefully review all relevant project details to provide a realistic calculation and minimise unexpected additional costs during the project.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The minimum order quantity, also known as the MOQ, depends on the product category, formulation, packaging and degree of customisation required.

Skincare products, decorative cosmetics, pencils and specialised packaging may require different technical and commercial minimum quantities.

Based on your product briefing, we assess which solution and order quantity are realistic for your project.

Which costs are involved in a private label development?

The costs depend primarily on the scope and level of customisation of your project.

Relevant factors include the product category, formulation, packaging, order quantity, number of sample rounds, pre-production samples, finishes, testing and regulatory requirements.

Any potential additional costs are communicated transparently and agreed with you before the relevant service is commissioned.

How can I receive a price list or product catalogue?

As a provider of individual private label products, PLCC deliberately does not work with a standard product catalogue or a general price list.

Formulations, packaging, filling volumes, finishes and project services can be combined in many different ways. Our service portfolio is therefore too individual to be represented accurately in a standardised catalogue.

Once we have received your project requirements, we prepare an individual recommendation and calculation.

04

Development & Design

Products, packaging and brand presentation

Which packaging options are available?

PLCC offers a wide range of packaging solutions, from proven standard packaging to fully customised premium packaging.

Depending on the product, options include bottles, jars, airless dispensers, tubes, pumps and a variety of packaging solutions for decorative cosmetics.

Recyclable, resource-efficient and sustainability-oriented packaging materials can also be evaluated depending on product requirements and availability.

Does PLCC support product concepts and artwork development?

Yes. Upon request, PLCC supports your project from the initial idea through to the finished cosmetic product.

Our services may include product concept development, positioning, packaging consultation, design, artwork creation and additional product-related marketing materials.

These services can be provided as a complete full-service package or selected individually according to your project.

05

Manufacturing & Delivery

Production lead times and international projects

What production lead times should I expect?

Lead times depend on the product category, level of customisation, packaging availability and overall project complexity.

Once the formulation, packaging and artwork have been approved, the average production time is typically around 18–20 weeks.

Custom developments, special packaging, premium finishes, additional testing or international logistics may extend the overall project timeline.

Does PLCC ship internationally and support export projects?

Yes. PLCC works with international customers and supplies cosmetic products to numerous markets worldwide.

Country-specific regulatory requirements should be discussed at the beginning of the project so that labelling, documentation and import requirements can be considered from the outset.

The scope of our export support is always tailored to the destination market and the individual project.

06

Responsibility

Sustainable project solutions

Does PLCC offer sustainable solutions?

Yes. Depending on your product and project requirements, sustainability-oriented formulations, resource-efficient materials and recyclable packaging solutions can be evaluated.

Individual sustainability goals regarding ingredients, packaging materials, packaging weight or supply chains can be incorporated into the development process from the beginning.

Together we determine which solution best matches your brand from both a technical and commercial perspective.
