Animal Testing
PLCC explicitly rejects animal testing, does not conduct animal testing on cosmetic products, and does not commission such tests. Animal testing for decorative cosmetic products has been banned under animal protection laws since 1986. Since 1998, this has also applied to all finished cosmetic products. In March 2009, a ban was also introduced for cosmetic raw materials, which PLCC fully supports! Since then, raw materials developed for use in cosmetics may no longer be tested for compatibility using animal experiments. PLCC also requires confirmation from its suppliers that no animal testing has been carried out. Instead, PLCC conducts internal application tests or patch tests (epicutaneous tests) on voluntary test subjects to determine the local tolerance of a product. PLCC stands firmly against animal testing.
